Agent Texas
After I made the Master Chief suit in 2011, I was immediately hooked on costume making. I had to make another one as soon as possible!
Not really knowing I could expand my horizons to different games or popular media, I stuck with the Halo 3 armor, but made my favorite character from the Red vs Blue online series, Agent Texas!
I made a lot of mistakes with this costume. Firstly, I continued to use fiberglass. In my first iteration of Tex, I used so much fiberglass the chest piece weighed 25 lbs alone. I wore the whole costume at Emerald City Comic Con 2013 from 8AM-11PM without taking it off once for a bathroom break or a breather!
I had bruises all over my chest from the weight and lack of proper padding on the chest piece, and I was so swollen from not drinking enough water, I was literally trapped in my arms and legs for an hour in my hotel room while I drank water to get the swelling down.
Follow my advice on this one:
DRINK WATER, TAKE BREAKS, AND ADD EXTRA PADDING!

Back when I was making Agent Texas, I was introduced to the Halo costuming community for the first time. I had always lurked in forums, but never knew anyone that was local, so I didn’t talk to many people.
It took for my friends to reach out to me because I was too nervous to reach out to them.
As we became friends, we also created the first Oregon-based Halo costuming group together. We attended conventions, charity events, and made a fan video or two!
